Magnetic thinking cap to boost brain power

  • The Magnetic thinking cap enhances the ability of the brain to learn. Scientists have found that stimulating the brain with magnets couls enhance a person's ability to learn.
  • Scientists have found that when a magnetic pulse was applied to the premotor cortex, an area of the brain just behind the forehead, the ability of the brain got enhanced to learn and remember a task.
  • According to researchers led by Dr Boyd at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, this technique could enhance intellectual capacity and help those with learning difficulties.
  • For a study the ability of 30 volunteers to track an object on a computer screen with a red dot using a joy stick was tested. During the task the target would move randomly, then enter a programmed pattern and finally return moving randomly. The participants were not aware of the repeated sections and they beleived that the targets moved randomly. Some of the participants were given the magnetic stimulation and they shlwed better performance as compared to others in the group and that too in the repeated sections.
  • According to Boyd this study demonstrated that magnetic stimulation enhanced learning ability and eventually leading to a magnetic thinking cap.
