NEW IPOD SHUFFLE 4GB

When the iPod shuffle was first launched on an expectant UK public the response was a muted one. Yes one could now own an iPod for £100 but it seemed that all the nice bits had been snipped from the features list, the main absentee being any form of screen. So news of the new iPod shuffle has once again had all of us wondering what would turn up from the states ready for our review.

Opening the funky packaging reveals that rather unsurprisingly the iPod shuffle still lacks any form of screen. In fact apart from the form factor very little else has changed and that is brave move given that the micro MP3 player market has boomed in the last 20 months or so. You can now get a small 1gb MP3 player from any number of manufacturers that will have and FM radio, small screens (some are even OLED colour) and wider format compatibility. However Apple has seen fit to stick with basic playback of MP3, WAV and ACC files and basic USB storage, no screen, no FM radio, in fact one might argue no change.

Female robot HRP-4C

  • I was enjoying my holidays at Tokyo in Japan with my friends.
  • We visited a fashion show where we saw beautiful women were performing on the dias walking to and fro with excellent facial expressions to exhibit various garments.
  • The women on the dias did not have physical parts but only motors and wires all over them.
  • They were not real women but female robots called HRP-4C.
  • Beleive it or not. The robots walk, laugh and also show different facial expressions like real women.

Danby DTT420 Twin Tub

Danby's DTT420 Twin Tub is an economical compact washing machine that does a great job of getting clothes clean. The model's low price, however, is made possible by an extreme and unusual lack of automation, for which the user must personally compensate.
Pros: The greenest way to do the laundry, inexpensive
Cons: Requires lots of manual intervention to move laundry through the cycles Add to Mixx!

IFB NEPTUNE A SURE NO-NO!!!

We have a IFB Neptune machine bought on 3-8-2006 from Saravana Stores, Chennai.
Very pathetic service done by IFB service centre in Chennai. We launched a complaint with the service centre on 14-10-2008 (complaint number: 2294967) regarding a leakage of washing powder rinse aid compartment. They are yet to replace the faulty part. We have been making calls almost everyday. The constant replies we got every time is ’spare parts not available’ and ’service will be done within 1 or 2 days’. We got the numbers of the Service manager (Ms.Raiza ph:32909310 ), Manager (Mr.Ravi Ganesan ph:9382312108 ) and area manager (Mr.Suresh ph:9841098747) and all the three of them did not attend the calls in the given numbers. God only knows if the numbers given by the tele-staff are correct or not. When we finally caught the technician Mr.Kannan who is responsible for replacing the part (he only checked the machine on 17-10-08 and promised to replace the part on 18-10-08) on line (ph:22316313) on 11-11-08 he told us that we are not the only ones but many customers’ machines are not repaired because of non availability of spare parts.
We wonder if a big company like IFB is not having any spare parts of the past one month! What is the purpose of collecting Rs.2,250/- in the name of extended warranty two years before the period of service (!) being extended ? We bought the machine in Aug 2006 which had a 2 year warranty. We were persuaded to pay Rs.2,250/- for an extended warranty for the period Aug 2008 to Aug 2010 and we paid the amount on 21-09-2006.
Is it a easy way of swindling in the name of EXTENDED WARRANTY ? Add to Mixx!

Ipod 80GB

Nowadays we are seeing bigger ipods nowadays...after the ipod touch now its the 80GB ipod...

Sound quality is good, but the bundled ear-buds lack punch—other headphones gave better results. The new iPod also makes for a great photo viewer, but the lack of zoom, pan, and rotate abilities is sorely missed. Video playback is quite smooth, and movies look great as always.

PANASONIC LUMIX UI

Too much stuff happens on the back of their cameras, but Panasonic's touch UI seems 'specially designed for fingers, with big, finger-friendly options. (I didn't notice it on their other cams, so I think it was just for the touch FX580, but I could be wrong.) Their standard non-touch UI isn't too bad—I'd put it in the middle of the pack.
