- Scientists in South Korea have developed a 3D technology in books in which characters leap out of page.
- The 3D entertainment got boosted by a few films such as "Avatar" and " Alice in Wonderland".
- Several companies have offered 3D televisions. 3D video game consoles are soon to be launched. Researchers have used 3D technology to animate some children's books like Korean folk tales.
- The pictures in the books have cues that trigger the 3D animation for readers wearing computer screen goggles. When the readers turn and tilt the books , the pictures in the book move accordingly in 3D animation.
- According to the researchers, this technology could be used for any type of book, displaying images over smart phones or in museums.

To turn on the lights, just think.
- We'd always heard a lot about the power of thoughts, but Toronto based interaxion has actually managed to put it to good use.
- The company has come out with a technology that lets users control a series of lights literally by thinking about them.
- It is show casing the technology in style at the on going winter olympics in Vancouver.
- Visitors to the Ontario House will be able to contuol lights at three land marks - Toronto CN Tower, The Niagra Falls and Ottawa's Parliament building by using their brains.
- Letting them do this magic will be a headset that measures their brain waves and sends a signal over the internet to one of the three Venues.

Turn any surface into a touch screen!
- These are the days of touch screens. But to get these facilities one need to get the entire gadget what so ever it be like an i Phone, Black Berry storm or an HTC HD2.
- But just think how wonderful it would be it you can transform any solid surface into a touch screen by pacing just a thin sheet of film over it? Well. This is just what Portugal based Displex has come out with.
- Just place the sheet on or under a glass or plastic or wooden sheet and press to it. That is all to be done by you transform it into a touch screen!
- Creating the magic is an assortment of nanowires embedded in the film that recognizes your fingers and transmits information to a micro controller and software suite that, in turn, shows what you have entered on your computer.

ANDROID BRINGS IN VOIP PHONE
Everyone knew that Android would not be limited to powering cellphones. Android powered netbooks and media players were anticipated even before the google OS picked up momentun. But, recently we have seen the OS powering a few not-s0-expected devices. First we saw the Android powered landline phone and now we have the Android powered VoIP phone on display at MSI’s booth at CeBIT.
The device, MS-9A31 is a landline-cum-VoIP hybrid featuring a large touchscreen. The phone supports DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication), video conferencing and instant messaging. Connectivity options include two LAN ports and a USB port. It also has a card reader for multimedia file transfer. There is no news on pricing or availability of the phone. Check out the video (more…)
