Now,books take on 3D avatar

• Scientists in South Korea have developed a 3D technology in books in which characters leap out of page.
• The 3D entertainment got boosted by a few films such as "Avatar" and " Alice in Wonderland".
• Several companies have offered 3D televisions. 3D video game consoles are soon to be launched. Researchers have used 3D technology to animate some children's books like Korean folk tales.
• The pictures in the books have cues that trigger the 3D animation for readers wearing computer screen goggles. When the readers turn and tilt the books , the pictures in the book move accordingly in 3D animation.
• According to the researchers, this technology could be used for any type of book, displaying images over smart phones or in museums.
