Digital Future.

• It is easy to carry a DVD o a friend's place and watch it on his TV. But things are not that easy when it comes to video downloads. Certain movie files will not work on Sony HDTV. Further movies downloaded from iTunes will work only on devices with Apple software.
• Hollywood and consumer electronics makers are concerned about this issue and fear that consumers wil not prefer to buy TV shows and video movies until they can carry it along with them and watch them at any plac where ever they want. Hence, Hollywood movie makers and high tech engineers are working on the Digital Future.
• Hollywood Studios have been trying to address this problem through an organisation called Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem or DECE.. The group is trying out to create a common digital standard that would allow consumers to buy or rent a digital video once and then play it on any device.
• Under the proposed system the proof of buying a digital video woild be stored in a online locker and the consumers will be able to play the videos on any DECE compatible devices. Consumers can buy Blu rays and store copies of digital discs of the video movies or games which can be accessed by them from any of their devices including mobile phones and PCs.

Sony introduces new walkmans.

• Withmobile phones packed with various features coming into the market outating walkmans I really wonder whether walkmans will have any buyers.

• However, ready to face the competition in the consumer electronics market Sony has boldly introduced rwo models of walkmans viz NWZ-S540 and NWZ-E440 in the market.
• The NWZ-S540 comes with Sony's new and exclusive Digital Linear phase speaker system that enhances sound qualityand has a 2.4" LCD screen.
• No doubt a happy listening and viewing experience at a price of Rs6,990.
• The NWZ-E440 comes with the features of long battery life enabling long hours of audio play and video view.
• The price is Rs5990 for the 4GB capacity and Rs6990 for the 8GB capacity.
  

Manual books giive way to e-books and kindles.

• The publishing industry is under a dark cloud as the sales are going down and the profits are dwindling year after year. Is ithis because the people are loosing interest in reading. The fact is that people are shifting from manual books to e-books and kindles.
• According to Amazon, people owning kindles have bought e-books 3.5 times more as compared to before.This clearly shows that there is a shift from manual books to electronic formats.
• According to Sony, the maker of Reader family devices, its customers on an average download 8 books in a month from its online library as compared to 6 manual books bought by a customer in 2008, clearly showing that reading habits of the people are on an increase.
• The e-readers market has also a new competitor, the Nook intrroduced by Barnes & Noble priced at $259.
  
• The owners of Kindles are likely to shift all their book purchases to Amazon/
  
• The Kindle and the Sony Reader with the convenience it offers tend to read more. It also facikitates carrying of multiple books. With these reading devices one can read at one's concenience while having supper or dinner orr or while travelling or while waiting at the station or just before bed time.

5 Stars Works GREAT with Macintosh!!!
I have a MACINTOSH LAPTOP with both imovieHD and imovie09. AS SOON AS THE CAMERA is connected imovie launches and a screen appears with ALL your movies shown (1st frame of movie is shown so you know which is which). You click a box to select the movies you want imported and the computer does the REST!

PHOTOS are imported the same way: iphoto immediately launches when USB cable (supplied with camera) is connected between camera and MACINTOSH. You click all the pics you want imported and the computer does the rest!!

The other mac guy doing the reviews is apparently an idiot.

5 Stars Good price, good quality, sound
I just got this camera yesterday at best buy. It was on sale online but not in the store. they matched the price online and I got it for 539.99

Then they marked it down to 519.99 because It was a open box. So I got lucky. I originally bought the sony handycam for 299.99 but realized I should have got the HD version. If you have HD computers and Tvs whats the point of watching home movied in anything but hd? the other footage from the original was grainy. since getting the HD the videos look great! Very happy. Beautiful camera and lightweight. for best video take in bright light. you can really see each hair on a persons head. The only problem I have is when I watch the videos on my computer it lags? I dont know why. It looks like still shots kinda like frame by frame?

If anyone can help me figure that out how to watch the videos without a delay I would be so happy

Its 99% perfect, but I would like a light. Price match amazon at bestbuy and save a hundred bucks. Great camera, No regrets.

4 Stars great image, but…..
I got this camera in april, and set out to take video and pictures right away to test quality. It is great, but you will only be able to see the full glory in your HD tv. If you try to copy to a disc, you will have to lower to SD (standard definition) until they come up with a copier for full HD. Until then I better keep the cards to view on tv. I have a dvd recorder I use to copy and edit videos I take on trips, (my old Sony tapes camera) and noticed that if I use HQ, comes pretty close to what I get from this camera. I must say that this camera is so easy to use and light. So, do not empty the cards, better carry a few ones, now that they are getting cheaper. I will wait for Blue Ray dvd recorder.

Sony DVP-FX930 Portable DVD Player, new entertainment

New product from Sony, this player has introduces in Japan. The Sony DVP-FX930 is the latest portable DVD player that comes with a 9-inch LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixel. Its battery provides up to 6 hours of playback time of DVD. The player also supports MP3 and JPEG files stored on a USB thumb drive. It has also support to read CD, CD-RW, DVD+/-R/RW, DVD, dual layer DVD, 8cm DVD+/-R/RW, and MP3 CD/DVD and JPEG CD/DVD.

The Sony DVP-FX930 Portable DVD Player will be available next month (19 June) in Japan and the price is 35,000 yen ($ 361).
