Mahru-Z, the mechanical maid.

  • My house maid telephoned me to inform that she would not be attending to my household work unless I give her a pay rise and a 5 day week. We were really worried and were in search of a solution and there came the Mahru-Z, the mechanical maid to assist us.
  • The walking robot Mahru-Z, the mechanical maid assists me in cleaning the house, dumping the clothes in the washing machine and even heats the food in the microwave.
  • The Mahru-Z can rotate its head, move its legs and hands and has an additional finger ie six fingers and a 3 dimensional vision to quickly recognise the house chores and perform them just like a human being and frankly to say even better.
  • I really have no words to appreciate the strength of my mechanical maid Mahru-Z with the visual ability to recogmise the tasks and execute them promptly. She never grumbles or ask for salary increase or weekly holidays.
  • I am really thankful to the South Korean scientists of The Institute of Science and Technology for developing such a useful alternative to the demanding and lazy house maids.

How to make your refrigerator use minimum energy when filled with food?

  • Not once the food gets cold. The cooling wection should be kept full, with enough room for some cool air to circulate for even cooling, and the freezer compartment should be tightly packed, so that the frozen foods can keep one another cold.
  • If there is not enough food to fill the freezer, it is suggested to put more ice trays or some containers of water.
  • Frozen food in a fully packed freezer will survive a power failure for quite a while if the door is kept shut.
  • Some extra water containers in the cooling section will also minimize the amount of in rushing warm air that has to be cooled when the door is opened and shut.
  • There are other ways to keep your refrigerator's condenser from working over time.
  • It is permissible to let hot food cool some what before refrigerating it as long as cooling period is not long enough to permit bacterial growth. Never use warm or hot water to make ice cubes.
  • Cover moist food, so that the refrigerator does not waste energy evaporating the moisture.
  • Check for the recommended temperatures, 37 to 40 degrees fahrenheit in the cooling section and under 5 degree fahrenheit in the freezer compartment.
  • Clean the condenser coils behind the refrigerator the way the manual says, and make sure there is enough room behind and above them for the warm air to escape.
  • Make sure the door seals are tight; Test them to see if they hold on to a dollar bill when you tug it.
  • The most important, keep door opening to a minimum, repace several items at a time rather than making seperate trips.

THE NEW BLACKBERRY BOLD

I’m a pretty devout iPhone user. My original iPhone has been good to me. The new 2.0 firmware upgrade takes the device to a whole new level of awesomeness. But as awesome as the iPhone is, I couldn’t help but drool a bit when I first glimpsed the BlackBerry Bold. RIM promised a unique mix of form and function and according to the Boy Genius Report, they’ve pretty much delivered.

Boy Genius had a chance to take the Bold on a month long field test (seriously, we’re jealous) and the results are pretty much what most of us expected. It’s exactly what BlackBerry fans have been waiting for. Boy Genius says it best when they refer to the Bold as the “BlackBerry communities iPhone”.
