Statue of Liberty – an USB Flash Drive

The greatest national symbol of America - Statue of Liberty - acquires new form of use. Now it is an USB Flash Drive. The idea of this original drive came to the Super Talent Company that tried to make it similar to the statue as much as possible. The USB Flash Drive presents the goddess in her lengthy dress staying on the base. You will see the USB connector if you pull off the statue from its base.

It is reported that the flash drive will come in three sizes: 2, 4, and 8 GB. This is the only information concerning the drive. There are no details on the size or the price. Add to Mixx!

Wii dumbbell helps gamers shape up

Shape up or ship out - that’s the mantra that most people hear these days concerning the current global economic downturn, where performance trumps everything else, with most people putting in more than expected just to retain their jobs. The same can also apply to gamers who have a notoriously poor reputation of keeping their health in check - and Power Play Corp. hopes to somewhat debunk that myth/fact with the Riiflex Wii Dumbbell. This not only doubles up as your Wiimote cover, it also offers the chance to exercise while you swing that Wiimote around wildly. For those who want to add a little bit of resistance weights to their Wii regime, you can pick up the 2lbs set foor $20 or 4lbs set for $40. Add to Mixx!

Solar powered oven gets green prize.

A $6 cardboard box that uses solar power to cook food, sterilize water and could help 3 billion poor people cut greenhouse gases, has won a $75,000 prize for ideas to fight global warming. The "Kyoto Box," named after the United Nations Kyoto Protocol that seeks to cut emissions of green house gases, is aimed at billions of people who use firewood to cook. Costing $6.60 to make, it can also make it easier to boil polluted water. "we're saving lives and saving trees," the Kyoto Box's developer Jon Boehmer, a Norwegian based in Kenya, said in a statement. The FT climate change challenge was backed by the Financial Times, technology group Hewlett-Packard, which sponsored the award, and development group Forum for the Future.

Can you make phone calls through your watch?

  • It was 17th March, my husband's birthday. I thought of gifting him something special and different. I went shopping and chose a slim and a cute watch as the gift. You may be wondering what is so special in a watch? The speciality of the watch is that it can also be used as a smart phone.
  • The phone watch LG-GD910 comes with keys to scroll the stored phone numbers and making calls. It has a 3.65cm screen with touch screen interface.
  • The microphone of LG-GD910 is quite powerful to function as a speaker phone and hence there is no need to carry the watch near the mouth or the ears to attend to phone calls. It also has provision for blue tooth.
  • The LG-GD910 is 3G compatible and uses third generation wireless technology just like other smart phones.
  • The first 3G phone to acheive a speed of 7.2 Mbps for HSDPA and hence can dowmload at faster rate.
  • The LG-GD910 can be used for video conferencing, displaying videos and hearing songs with the MP3 player provided in the watch tied on the wrist. It is also provided with voice recognition software.
  • Now the people may think my husband to be little odd as he messages into his wrist but you know they are just jealous.

Flexible speaker for better acoustics

  • I have a music system at home with no traditional visible speakers attached to it. But still the sound is crystal clear, well amplified and excellent. This would not have been possible but for the flat speakers of just 0.25mm thickness hung on the walls of my house like pictures.
  • The speaker can be used for making announcements in public places as it has an excellent amplifying effect.
  • The speaker is slim, beautiful and flexible.
  • I have also hidden it in the interior of my car as it literally occupies no space.
  • It no doubt can be used as a tool for interior decoration as well as an amplifier for better acoustics.

Mojo Software development kit for next gen WebOS

  • Palm announced the launch of the new Mojo SDK at the Web 2.0 Expo in SanFrancisco.
  • The touch screen handset runs the web-centric operating system WebOS to help people organise and manage their online contacts and identities.
  • WebOS will surely be a rival to the iPhone, Blackberry, Nokia's N97 and the Google G1phone.
  • The release of the SDK is viewed as an important development in the life of a presmart phone.
  • The Mojo SDK is the next major boon for next generation smart phones.
  • The application displays data updates on a small bar at the bottom of the phone's screen.
  • The WebOS includes software by MotionApps which will allow legacy Palm OS applications to run on the new software.
  • The Mojo SDK used open sourced technologies to build applications
  • The tools necessary to write for WebOS - HTML, CSS and Java - are the same as web developers use.

NEW IPOD SHUFFLE 4GB

When the iPod shuffle was first launched on an expectant UK public the response was a muted one. Yes one could now own an iPod for £100 but it seemed that all the nice bits had been snipped from the features list, the main absentee being any form of screen. So news of the new iPod shuffle has once again had all of us wondering what would turn up from the states ready for our review.

Opening the funky packaging reveals that rather unsurprisingly the iPod shuffle still lacks any form of screen. In fact apart from the form factor very little else has changed and that is brave move given that the micro MP3 player market has boomed in the last 20 months or so. You can now get a small 1gb MP3 player from any number of manufacturers that will have and FM radio, small screens (some are even OLED colour) and wider format compatibility. However Apple has seen fit to stick with basic playback of MP3, WAV and ACC files and basic USB storage, no screen, no FM radio, in fact one might argue no change.
